The eldest son of General Producer Kazushi Sakuraba, SAKU Jr., will join the Special Iron Man Match (exhibition match) at the QUINTET FIGHT NIGHT 6 in TOKYO at EX THEATER ROPPONGI on Friday, March 12.
General Producer Kazushi Sakuraba's eldest son, SAKU Jr., has devoted himself to judo since childhood. This spring, he will graduate from college and end his judo career to start working as a business person. Sakuraba suggested that he should showcase the skills and passion he has acquired over the years in a QUINTET fight, and he agreed to give it a try. However, SAKU Jr. will start working for a company in April and will not be debuting as a professional fighter.
The duration of the exhibition-style Special Iron Man Match is 8 minutes. Even if either wins by Ippon, the fight will restart from the center of the ring during the given time. SAKU Jr.'s opponent is Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Kazuhiro Suzuki, who participated in the QUINTET Akita tournament as a member of TEAM SAKURABA.
Kazuhiro Suzuki is a young Jiu-Jitsu practitioner who comes from the same hometown as Kazushi Sakuraba. Sakuraba highly appreciates the way Suzuki has devoted his youth and life to Jiu-Jitsu and has chosen him as his son's opponent.
Sakuraba likens QUINTET to the Koshien high school baseball tournament held in Japan, and this fight will be a passionate and unwavering battle that embodies this spirit.
SAKU Jr.'s father, Kazushi Sakuraba, sent a message to his son as follows. "Junior, you're joining the workforce soon. Show proof of your judo-centered youth in this fight! From SAKU Senior."
